How much does it cost to join YouthBuild?
Our YouthBuild and Career Access programs are totally free. Thanks to the support of generous donors in our community, we are able to provide these resources and services to you at no cost. We do not want financial obstacles to get in the way of your success, and we will even pay you a small stipend to attend our program.

We offer a variety of career pathways such as Construction, HVAC, Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics, Healthcare, and Information Technology. We also have a network of connections to local colleges and vocational schools. As part of the application process, you will meet with one of our Success Coaches to go over your goals and plan for your success while in our program. We will gladly assist you in finding resources for whatever career path you may be interested in.
Can I join YouthBuild if I already have a high school diploma?
Can I join YouthBuild if I already have a high school diploma?
Absolutely! Our Career Access program is geared towards those who already have their diploma and designed to take you to the next level in your road to employment. Our staff will guide you through career exploration, help you to identify in-demand jobs in Lake County, and show you the steps needed to obtain a job. We offer mock interviews, communications workshops, and resume tutorials so you are equipped with all the tools you need to succeed.

The YouthBuild program offers much more than just a high school diploma. We want to see you succeed in all aspects of life. In addition to earning your high school diploma, you will receive college and career readiness training and gain the life skills necessary to build a better future for yourself. If you are interested in just your high school diploma, please contact us and we are glad to help you find a different program that would work for you.
How long is the YouthBuild Program?
How long is the YouthBuild Program?
There is no set timeline for the program. Our YouthBuild Program is 6-8 months long, but once you join YouthBuild, you are a member for life. You can work at your own pace to earn your certifications and complete your high school diploma. The more work you put in, the more you will benefit from YouthBuild. If you have concerns about committing to the program, fill out an application and someone from our team can discuss your options with you.

After you apply, one of our staff members will contact you shortly after with more information. From there, you will attend one of our virtual information sessions to learn more about the program and ask any questions you may have. After that, you will meet to create a plan for your success at YouthBuild. Before being fully admitted into the program, we will ask that you participate in Mental Toughness, a two-week program where you experience what it’s like to be in YouthBuild. Our team is here to help you every step of the way. Fill out an application and get started today!
