Career Access Assistant | $35,360 - $41,600 per year

At YouthBuild Lake County, we’re seeking a Career Access Assistant dedicated to guiding our YouthBuild and Pre-apprentice participants towards their career goals. As part of our team, you’ll work collaboratively to ensure both program efficiency and individual growth. Essential skills include organization, clear communication, and a proven ability to follow through.

Your day-to-day will involve guiding members on career and college opportunities, planning and executing professional development events, and managing internship placements. You’ll use various tools to assess and direct members to appropriate career paths, while also coordinating with the broader team to maximize program success. You will also Assist in planning of professional development events such as professional guest speakers, mock interviews, career exploration panel discussions, college preparation workshops, field trips, etc. Our ideal candidate holds at least an Associate’s Degree, boasts excellent communication and writing skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Member Services Manager| $55,000 - $62,000 a year

As the Member Services & Data Manager at YouthBuild Lake County (YBLC), you are pivotal in driving our program’s metrics and ensuring the personal and professional development of our youth members. With a comprehensive grasp of YBLC’s initiatives, you will collaborate extensively across the organization, masterfully analyzing data, and steering strategic decisions. Your proficiency with tools, notably Salesforce, will streamline program coordination, grant management, and enhance member support. In this crucial role, you will be tasked with reinforcing communication channels, cementing community alliances, and guiding our youth through every challenge, always championing the YBLC ethos.

Your daily activities will span a broad spectrum, from fine-tuning our data collection methodologies to ensuring grant compliance, and delivering personalized case management. Every action you take is targeted at fortifying our commitment to fostering growth and unlocking potentials. Your role demands a sophisticated blend of analytical prowess, unwavering dedication, and an innate ability to resonate with and uplift the diverse and vibrant youth community we serve.

Non-Profit Finance Director (Part-Time) | $34 - $44 an hour

As our part-time Director of Finance, clocking in 20-25 hours weekly, you play an integral role in steering the financial compass of our esteemed YouthBuild Program. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and Development, your core mandate spans the gamut from crystallizing financial strategies, safeguarding organizational assets, to articulating transparent financial narratives for our leadership, board, and stakeholders. With YouthBuild Lake County primarily operating on the backbone of grants – Federal, State, and private donations – a significant facet of your role involves deftly navigating the nuances of each grant’s budgeting and cost allocations. A deep-seated acumen for Federal Uniform Guidance and cost allocation isn’t just desired—it’s paramount.

On a typical day, you’d be at the helm of grant management, supervising the vouchering process, and keeping an eagle eye on payroll and tax reports. Liaising with Jitasa, our external bookkeeping ally, you’ll ensure seamless information flow, from grant contracts to expense coding. Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting policies in tandem with grant and federal requisites. As a valuable cog in our finance committee, your insights will shape board decisions, while also partnering with the Executive Director and Jitasa’s advisory wing for the annual budget. From leading all financial audits to orchestrating benefit plans and supervising a dedicated team of 2, your role is a blend of strategic foresight, meticulous precision, and inspiring leadership.
