Open Positions

As the Program Assistant – Career Development, you help prepare our program participants for life in the workplace. You will work closely with our participants to guide them in determining their desired career pathways. You will help organize small events to bolster professional development such as mock interview sessions, communication workshops, and professional guest speakers, to name a few. You should be willing to work with 

Member Services Manager| $55,000 - $62,000 a year

The YouthBuild Lake County (YBLC) Member Services Manager touches every aspect of the YouthBuild (YB) program, under the supervision of the Program Director, to ensure achievement of various performance measures. As the Member Services Manager, you should have a big-picture perspective of YBLC programs and assist in ensuring program productivity and efficiency. You should be willing to work with others across the organization to evaluate, determine, and provide solutions for YBLC’s ongoing needs. You should have proven ability to plan and maintain work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance for the organization, stakeholders and most importantly, our youth.

Nonprofit Data Coordinator | from $38,000 a year

YouthBuild Lake County is currently hiring for a Data Coordinator. As our Data Coordinator, you will be charged with maintaining all programming related databases with integrity and accuracy. This is not a customer service position, but rather a data entry and data analysis coordinator.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a manageable system of student records that is easily accessible, confidential, and consistent.
  • Perform data entry of student information into multiple databases including federal, state and YouthBuild’s Salesforce database
  • Maintain quality assurance as it relates to data integrity
  • Review student files for accuracy and compliance ensuring that time and attendance as well as required documentation are compliant
  • Review individual case records to ensure compliance and integrity
  • Perform cross reference name reconciliation between all systems to ensure accurate and consistent information
  • Prepare reports using both Salesforce and grantors’ mandated data management systems
  • Communicate professionally with funders, monitors and auditors and provide attention to detail
Public Relations Intern (AmeriCorps VISTA) |$1,466 a month

YouthBuild Lake County is looking to expand awareness within the local and hyper-local community to assist in future fundraising and recruiting efforts. The Public Relations VISTA will work with YBLC’s development department to develop a weekly blog to expand search engine optimization, infographics to increase shareability, and a media contact list. The Public Relations VISTA will also write press releases to increase media presence and complete other capacity building projects. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and beginners’ knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and WordPress preferred.

This position is a good fit for you if you’re looking to develop your portfolio for that next step in your career. If you love social media, writing and have at least a beginner’s knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or really want to learn it, this is a great fit for you. The Public Relations VISTA is considered a volunteer position and you will earn a bi-weekly stipend, develop valuable career skills and build your portfolio all while working for a nonprofit that supports the underserved community. Additionally, when you finish the year-long VISTA program, you will become eligible for the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award (worth $6,495) to be used for post-secondary education or existing student loans.
