YouthBuild Lake County’s FREE Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship in Building and Facility Maintenance provides paid, hands-on training to help you develop the skills needed for a stable and rewarding career. This 18-month program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction, allowing apprentices to earn while they learn while gaining real-world experience maintaining and operating facilities.

The Program

YouthBuild Lake County’s 18 month Registered Apprenticeship Program provides adults throughout Illinois who are interested in building and maintenance repair the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials while gaining hands-on construction experience.

This program combines classroom instruction, technical certifications, and on-the-job training to ensure apprentices build professional skills and are prepared for long-term careers in the skilled trades.

Eligibility

To enroll in YouthBuild Lake County’s FREE Registered Apprenticeship program, you must meet 4 requirements:

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age Range: 18–55+
  • Residency: Must reside in Illinois
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Commitment: Ability to complete an 18-month training program
