Campaign FAQ

Have questions about the Transforming Futures Capital Campaign? Below are answers to some of the most common questions about the campaign and how it will support YouthBuild Lake County’s future.

What is the Transforming Futures Capital Campaign?

The Transforming Futures Capital Campaign is a multi-year effort to secure and improve a permanent facility for YouthBuild Lake County. The campaign supports the purchase of our new building, renovations to support current programming, and future facility improvements that will expand workforce training and education opportunities.

Why did YouthBuild Lake County launch this campaign now?

YouthBuild Lake County previously operated in leased space that limited the organization’s ability to expand programming. As the lease approached its end, the organization launched the Transforming Futures Campaign to secure a permanent home that would allow programs to grow and serve more young people in the future.

What has already been completed through the campaign?

Early campaign investments allowed YouthBuild Lake County to purchase a 30,000 square foot facility and complete Phase 1 renovations. These improvements include modern classrooms, a participant lounge, a new lobby and reception area, and other upgrades that allow programs to operate in a safe and professional environment.

What improvements are planned next?

The next phase of the campaign will support the construction of a dedicated construction training workshop and expanded workforce training spaces. These improvements will allow YouthBuild Lake County to expand hands-on training opportunities and better prepare participants for careers in the skilled trades.

How will the campaign impact YouthBuild participants?

The completed Workforce Hub will provide participants with access to modern training spaces, expanded workforce programs, and additional hands-on learning opportunities. These improvements will help more young people earn credentials, gain job experience, and enter long-term careers.

How can I support the campaign?

There are several ways to support the Transforming Futures Campaign. Donors can make a campaign gift, join a campaign committee, introduce new partners or funders, or help share the campaign’s story within their networks.

Are naming opportunities available?

Naming opportunities were thoughtfully developed by YouthBuild Lake County’s Capital Campaign Recognition Committee and recognize individuals, families, foundations, and organizations that are helping make this transformational project possible.

Donors interested in learning more about available opportunities are encouraged to contact our team for additional information.

What happens if the campaign timeline changes?

Campaign timelines are contingent upon fundraising progress. As support grows, YouthBuild Lake County will continue to prioritize key facility improvements while securing additional investment to complete the full Workforce Hub vision.

Who is leading the Transforming Futures campaign?

The Transforming Futures Campaign is guided by a dedicated Campaign Committee made up of community leaders, partners, and supporters who are helping advance the campaign and connect new donors to YouthBuild Lake County’s mission.
